Who builds Position Math

The team behind the calculators, how the math gets checked, and why we sign our work as a team rather than as names.

The team behind the tools

Position Math is built and maintained by a small team with about 15 years of experience in the financial industry, whose working background is proprietary trading and quantitative engineering. The calculators on this site are the kind of checks we run on our own risk before putting money behind a trade — position size against a stop, what a drawdown really costs, how a prop-firm rule bites — cleaned up, documented, and published so anyone can use them free, with no account and no broker connection.

How the math is checked

Every calculator prints its formula and assumptions next to the result, so nothing has to be taken on trust: you can reproduce any number by hand or against your own broker's figures. The calculation engines behind the heavier tools — the Monte Carlo simulator, expectancy, losing-streak, daily-loss and portfolio-heat math, the trade-journal statistics — are covered by automated tests that run before the site is rebuilt, and the backend behind the pairs scanner has its own test suite. Pages whose default assumptions matter carry a visible last-reviewed date.

Why a team signature, not bylines

We publish as a team on purpose. Arithmetic does not become more correct because a name and a job title sit next to it — it becomes trustworthy when the formula is in the open and anyone can check it. So instead of bylines, this site owes you three things: the formula printed on the page, the assumptions written down, and a prompt correction when something is wrong.

Corrections and boundaries

Found a number that looks wrong? Email [email protected] with the tool name and the exact inputs, and we will reproduce it and fix confirmed errors. What we will not do: give personal investment, trading, tax, or financial advice, sell predictions, or let a commercial relationship change a result — see the risk disclosure and affiliate disclosure.
